Lilly & Emma meet Manukan Island, Kota Kinabalu

On Thursday 4th August 2011, Me, Emma, my mum, my dad and uncle Geoff went to Manukan Island for a trip to go snorkeling. When we were going to leave we had to get life jackets to keep us safe on the speed boat. On the speed boat it was really really bumpy and scary because the waves went up and down really high.

When we were signing in, me and Emma went out on the bridge. We saw this giant sand turtle. It was so sandy we could not see who made it.

Dad bought us some snorkels and flippers so we could go in the sea without tasting sea water and we could see lots of fish.

My mum and dad and Uncle Geoff got to go in the deep end and got to feed little bits of bread to the fish. My dad bought an underwater camera and took lots of pictures of different sorts of fish.

A kind man gave us lots of bread to feed the fish with. Me and Emma fed lots of the fish and watched the grownups feed them too. Another kind man asked if he could have some bread for his family to feed the fish.

That snorkeling day was the best day ever. I felt really excited and happy about going with my family.

Lilly's fantastic adventure

My Fantastic Adventure begun with a super long and boring flight to Brunei. It took nine hours to fly there. Before we left to go to Brunei we had to fly from Christchurch and do a stop in Auckland, I got to see my friends in Auckland.

In the first four hours dad and I played on my Nintendo DS. After awhile I went to sleep on my mum's knee for half an hour. Then when I woke up we had a little walk around the plane. Me and Mum took some photos and my mum took this photo.

For the next part of the flight we watched movies, I got to watch Diary of a Wimpy kid - Roderick rules and Rango. Then we had lunch. Soon it was time to land the plane at Brunei.

When I landed we checked our bags out and after that I got to see my Cousin Emma who was waiting for me. I was so excited and I ran out the door and gave her a big cuddle.

I didn't much like the flight but it was worth it to see my cousin.

How Tornadoes are formed -Explanation Writing

Tornadoes scare people and can cause lots of serious damage.

A tornado starts in thunder clouds they form in warm moist air. When the wind hurls into each other from different directions the air begins to form into a funnel. Then the funnel touches the ground and sucks dirt and dust causing the funnel darken. Tornadoes can be hundreds of metres high and can speed around at 500km per hour. Tornadoes can last for fifteen minutes to five hours. Scientists do not know how funnels of tornadoes stop. Although tornadoes are dangerous we are learning more about them.

Lilly's - Selwyn Sports Spectacular Day

On Thursday we went to Selwyn Sports Spectacular Day. The students had to be either year 3 or 4. We all went on buses. When we got there we saw around about four hundred children. At the start I was really nervous because of the other schools being there. The first thing I did was volleyball. I hit the ball hard and it went over Chloe's head.

For lunch we had sausages and biscuits for free. While we were having lunch there was a Karate Show. The funniest part was when a man broke the wood with his hand. At the end we gather together to find out who got prizes. Some people won huge Easter eggs.


I had a really fun time.It was the best sports day ever.

Lillys day with Mum and Dad

On Saturday morning mum dad and I played wrestling .It was mum and I getting dad mum and I won. After a while dad and I played 101 kids brainy games.We played Miner Max. I am stuck on level 8 ,20, 10 and 9 . I always get stuck on level 6 with my cousin Emma.Later on, we played Fish. One time I got 12 sets and one time I won 5 times .Then we went on the Room Two's blog we saw the Earth hour movie.At the end of the day it was dinner I had a really FUN time with mum and dad.

It All About Cinnamon(best guinea pig in the world)

I got Cinny for for my 7th Birthday. She eat, grass, popcorn, carrots, corn , hay and others.

When she looks fat she is cute. We think she is pregnant and due to have her babies soon.

We have friends called Fiona, Steve, Zoe, Sushanna, Daniel and Jesse. They have about 16 guinea pigs with names like sugar, Ginger and Fruit Salad.

Since Cinnamon is pregnant I'm not really allowed to hold her, so I don't hurt her babies. Her teeth are very big and she nibbles my finger. It does not hurt my finger. When you lick your finger and put it by her mouth she will lick it too.

We hope we only have girl babies because the boys will make more babies.

Our cat " Muffin" has been friendly to 'Chinny", however mum and dad are scared that muffin will eat Cinnamon.

I love cinnamon. She is the best guinea pig in the world.

Hot Summer Day

Yesterday we went to the pool. There were heaps of people. I got to see Kayla and I got to swim to the deep end. My mum got a little hot so she got out.Dad and I played for one more hour. Then we got out and we went home . It was such a fantastic day at the pool. I want to go again.
