A Positive of the Christchurch Earthquake

One of the positive things to come out of the Christchurch Earthquake has been new students joining our class, as their schools have been damage. They have added that something different and a new vigor into the classroom. Here is our way of introducing them.

Emma's Thoughts about the Earthquake

On Saturday morning there was a Earth Quake!! My mum woke my sister and I. I thought it was in a big truck. We all stood under the door. In our house mostly all the pictures in the lounge and all the stuff in the kitchen was broken. The epicenter was Kaiapoi, and in Kaiapoi roads moved and in Christchurch was even worst, I think. In Christchurch people had their windows smashed out and some people had their walls and homes lost.

On Saturday there was an earthquake at 4:40am and it was freaky! My photo fell on me. There were lots of after quakes. It sounded like a truck. Then Jacob and I went in mum and dad's bed , dad went to look if everyone was okay.


Then we went to soccer in the morning . While we were playing there was an after quake I didn't feel it because I was running
around.The power wasn't working and you couldn't watch tv. Just at lunch time there was another after quake.

When I was biking home later that morning an earthquake occured and Jacob fell off his bike. The after quakes might go on for weeks.On Sunday there were small after quakes at 6:57 and 7:10 and then a very big after quake . Some of the earthquakes sounded like the wind.

When I was sleeping an after shock woke me up at 7:22 and then I heard helicopters are looking for people. At 7:30 when I was watching tv there was another after quake. At breakfast time there was an earth quake and that quake shook down some photos. After some earthquakes you could sometimes hear the floor grumbling. At afternoon tea time there were two afterquakes in 5minutes some causing some home roofs to smashed.On Monday at tea time there were two earthquakes in 1minute.

Earthquake

Last night I was woken up by my dad because of the Earthquake!! Once I woke up I was hearing the thumbing, rumbling and watching my book shelf falling on my long made lego tower!! I did not realise that it was an Earthquake,so I tried turning on the lights but the lights didn't work.I asked my dad, "dad why aren't the lights working?"

"Because it is a Earthquake,"my dad said. The girls were scared about Earthquake so the whole family snuggled into the girls' room because they were scared to move. My photo Eowyn and I had fallen down from the book shelf & it broke! Eowyn and I said that the Earthquake has to fix it.
