Dolphins

Dolphins are mammals, they live in the ocean all over the world. Dolphins are a perfect shape for swimming. Dolphins have a thick layer of blubber to keep them warm.

A dolphins has a hole in the top of its head, so it can breath on the surface of the ocean. Dolphins have flippers to help them move through the water. They can dive 500 metres below the surface of the water.

A mother dolphin can only have one baby at a time.

Dolphins eat fish and squid. They catch their food by sending a special noise which tells the dolphin that fish or squid is near.

Dolphins are known to play around boats. They are a very social animal.

Smashing into fences!!!!

Yesterday the year three and four went to Lincoln University for a sports gala. My favourite activity was rollerblading. At first I couldn't stand up . I needed my mum and funny ski poles to help me stand up. When Grace went past in her rolling blades she made a pattern. Then I started to do the pattern what Grace was doing. I was rollerblading but couldn't stop so I had to crash into the fences to stop. My Mum tried to use a skateboard she isn't so good.

Shark Dive- Writing

We watch the above video about a Shark Dive. We use our imagination as if we were diving with the sharks. Our writing focus was on using more descriptive words to create more of a picture for the reader.'

Also we wanted to use different connectives to replace 'then".

Chloe -

I was sitting on the boat cuddling my mum and chewing my nails. Next, I jumped into the water with my sister.

The first thing I saw was a school of black stripy fish. The ocean was dark and deep. I was swimming around with my sister there were lots of things in the sea. Then I saw a enormous shadow. Suddenly, my sister shouted, " Its a shark". My sister and I were terrified, so we swum up to the boat . Our dad helped us up and we were safe.Then the shark haunted us for ever.

Bella--

I was dying to get in. I had to jump into the dark ocean but when I hit the water, it was freezing. I was shivering all over. When the bubbles cleared I saw a school of fish. Suddenly, I saw a dark shadow lurking in the distance. It came closer and closer, and right up to me. AAAAAhhhh!!!!

I was terrified!!! I started to swim to the surface but the shark bit my hand. I was screaming. It was the scariest thing I did. I swum up to the surface and climbed into the boat . I bandage my hand.
