Every instrument for an orchestra is split onto four different families. The four families are percussion, strings, brass and woodwind.  There is a person who is called the conductor. The conductor waves a rod around so that his or her musicians know what tune to play. 

One of the orchestra families is the string instruments. The string instrument are either plucked or used with a bow. My favourite string instrument is a violin. 

Another family of instruments is percussion. Percussion instruments are played by striking or shaking the instruments. The bongos are like drums but played with your hands. there is also the woodwind family. The four instruments that are in the woodwind family are the flute, oboe, clarinet and the bassoon. 

The last family is the brass family. The brass family is also played by blowing air into it. When these four families are played all together they make loud, inspiring music.

An Orchestra is a group of people that play different kinds of musical instruments. There are four musical families called strings, brass, percussion and woodwind. A conductor is a person with a stick and he waves, so people know that they are playing right.

One of the orchestra families is the string instruments. The string instruments are played by being plucked with a bow. My favourite string instrument is a double bass.

Another family of instruments is called percussion. They are played be being shaken or hit with your hand.

Another section is the woodwind. They are played by air being blown into the mouthpiece . They were originally made from wood.

Lastly there is the brass instruments. The brass family is made out of shiny metal.

Orchestra

A conductor helps people play instruments in an orchestra. An orchestra can get really loud when they play the instruments. The orchestra is split into groups strings, brass, woodwind and percussion.

One of the orchestra families is the string instruments. The string instruments are played by plucking or rubbing the strings. My favourite instruments are the double bass and the harp. 

Another family of instruments is called the percussion. You use your hands or sticks to hit percussion instruments, like a kettle  drums. Percussion instruments can be played really loud.

The flute is a part of the woodwind family. Woodwind instruments were made of wood but now they are made of metal.

Lastly, there is the brass family . The brass instruments are all made of metal. A brass instrument is a trombone.  A Trombone is a long brass instrument that can be played loud.

When these musical families are played together they make wonderful sounds.

Jaiya's Information Report - " Orchestra"

An orchestra is made of many different instruments the make a variety of sounds. Each instrument is in a family of instruments that have the same characteristics.


One of the orchestra families is the string instruments. The string instruments are played by musicians. string instruments make beautiful sounds by plucking or  rubbing with a bow. My favourite instrument is a harp.

Another family of instruments is the percussion section. Instruments from this family are played by shaking or hitting the them.

The brass section is made of shiny metal.

The woodwind family of instruments originally were made from wood. You play a flute by blowing into the mouth piece.

When these musical families are played together in groups they sound incredible.

Practice today, Cody beat all comers from Room 2 in the high jump!!! Everyone is after him on athletics day this Thursday!!! Cody cleared 91cm!!!!
