How Meteors Are Formed.

Meteors begin as small portions of dust and rock's they are called meteors these fragments are usually found in the tail of a comet. As the comet passes the sun the heat from the sun being to melt the comet .Pieces of rock shatter from the tail of a comet. These rocks are called meteoroids. These left over chunks of rocks float in space as the comet travels on.

As earth spins around the sun it passes through many paths of meteoroids. Some meteoroids are pulled closer because Earth's gravity, as the meterorids shoots through Earth's atmosphere the meteoroids begin to become very hot. The meteoroids are so hot they begin to burn and glow. Some people see shooting stars but they are actually meteors passing through our atmosphere.
