The legend of Rona and the Moon, Marama

Room 2 worked on retelling the legend of Rona and the Moon in our paintings . The painting style was influenced by Vincent Van Gogh " 'Starry Night".

  3. This is brilliant! I live in England and my name is Rona! I discovered this old Maori legend about my namesake for the first time on your web page and I enjoyed looking at the amazing paintings you talented children at Burnham Primary have done. I will always now think of Rona when I look at the moon and I'll make sure I am patient and not risk joining her up there due to losing my temper! Thank you to all you children in Christchurch New Zealand! You will have moved on from Room 2 now but your great art work and your class photo is still on here!

  4. Awesome work! great ideas... just a thought - perhaps teaching the accurate pronounciation of Rona could have made the learning more authentic? Raw-(roll the rrrr) nah (as in 'nut')
