Letti comes to room2, Tonga Treasures
This morning Letti came into room 2 . She taught us about Tongan and showed us her treasures. The tapa mat was a decorations and you could sit on it when there were important advents.Letti said Tonga is a small contry.Tonga has heaps of coconuts.Letti brought her wedding dresses in.I thought the shells was light and small.Letti said everyone had black and brown hair. The ladies dress in dresses and skirts to go to church. The men wore a long belt, made out of coconut husks.Letti said they only had square houses with cold water for their showers.
Letti came to Room2.
They Letti showed room 4 and us Tonga ''treasure''. One of her special thing was her wedding skirt and it had holes in it.
Letti had a giant topa cloth for wedding decorations and for people to sit on it. There was a fan it was shape like a love heart
with a coconut shell in the middle of it. She taught us what they wear to church. They eat fresh fruit and they drink coconut
milk. In Tonga use banana leaves for plates. The most important thing for Tonga is nature.
Letti coming to Room2
Today Letti came to Room 2 so did Room4 to teach us about Tonga. In Tonga they use the greeting 'Malolalay' it means hello.
When you go to school in Tonga you have to be 6 years old and you have no toys no play ground and No! shoes. She showed us what Girls and Boys wear in Tonga. Then Letti showed us some Tonga treasures such as fans, everyone has one and
they sometimes are decorated with shells from the beach. When Tonga people go to church all the shops are closed. I think Tonga people act differently than New Zealand people.
