SANTA'S ELVES GOT LAZY.

Once a upon a time Santa's elves got very lazy. Santa went into the present room to see what the elves were doing. When Santa saw there were no presents he was shocked. What he actually saw were elves lazing around a heater.

Santa said, "my word, there is only 1 hour till I have to deliver my presents before midnight"

Santa put magic dust on the elves so they could go faster than they had ever had before. Rudolph was wondering what everyone was up too.Rudolph went to the present room and saw all the elves busy like bees.

Rudolph yelled, " SANTA IT'S TIME TO GO !

Santa picked up all the presents and set off on a journey around the world giving children christmas presents. After Santa had delievered his presents around the world he came back home and went to bed.

Concert Recount

Yesterday it was my concert . We had lots of fun . People came to watch the dancing. My group was dressed in purple and black, with ties and a stripy bandanna. I got to wear kelly's glasses. Our group were 3rd. I got to certificate for the best performer but they didn't give it to me. Instead I got an ice-cream. Dad wasn't there he was fishing. The day was awesome.

FRIEND'S HOUSE.

Yesterday I went to my friend's house. We had tea there, we had tacos. Then we were allowed to trick or treat. We got chewing gum. We got a lots of lollies. Then we went back to our friend's house. Later on, my family went home. We all went to bed. My brother won a woophie cushion.

Reading Theatre " Who Was King"

HIKING TRIP RECOUNT

In the holidays I went hiking with my family. There were ferns that looked like spiders. We made our own fire and we put sausages on stick to cook them. We held the sausages in the fire. Dad was the last to cook his sausages because he had to wait for us to move for there was no more space. He burnt his sausages. There is a friendly
bird in the bush. It was a great trip.

Writing Activity " Pass it On"

We had our first attempt to play " Pass it On"

The objective of this activity is to write a narrative with 5 different authors. Each author has to write a particular part of the story within 2 minutes. Each time the author is changed the old author has only 20 seconds to explain what they wrote to the new author.

Here are the roles for each author

1. Create the setting and characters
2. Build upon the characters
3. Tell a problem
4. Inform the solution
5. Provide an ending

We voted for the team that had the most creativity story with the elements of a narrative in their story.

On a sunny day the ice cream guy went to the circus to sell his ice-creams. An evil clown was laughing at the ice-cream guy. The ice-cream guy sold an ice-cream to the evil clown. The evil clown couldn't stop laughing. Then he started to cry . He began hitting people because he was so happy.

The clown went looking around a park to find the ice-cream man who sold him the ice -cream. The man was right in front of the clown. The clown was so angry at the ice cream guy for he had sold him a raspberry ice-cream.

Sophie's Moko- Podcast

We Brainstormed what Knowledge and skills we learnt in making our Moko.

Knowledge:

We learnt that a Moko isn't just art. A moko tells a story about an individual, and what were the important events to have happen to him/her.

Skills:

We had to manage ourselves because the first draft was meant to be done at home.

We had to be creative as to design our own ideas. We believed this must be thinking then. We use symbols on our Mokos to tell a story.

We had to offer critical feedback after listening to others how they were going to present and say in their podcast. While podcasting we had to speak clearly to help the listener of our podcasts understand.

Earthquake in Canterbury, .

On Saturday there was an earthquake at 4:40am and it was freaky! My photo fell on me. There were lots of after quakes. It sounded like a truck. Then Jacob and I went in mum and dad's bed , dad went to look if everyone was okay.


Then we went to soccer in the morning . While we were playing there was an after quake I didn't feel it because I was running
around.The power wasn't working and you couldn't watch tv. Just at lunch time there was another after quake.

When I was biking home later that morning an earthquake occured and Jacob fell off his bike. The after quakes might go on for weeks.On Sunday there were small after quakes at 6:57 and 7:10 and then a very big after quake . Some of the earthquakes sounded like the wind.

When I was sleeping an after shock woke me up at 7:22 and then I heard helicopters are looking for people. At 7:30 when I was watching tv there was another after quake. At breakfast time there was an earth quake and that quake shook down some photos. After some earthquakes you could sometimes hear the floor grumbling. At afternoon tea time there were two afterquakes in 5minutes some causing some home roofs to smashed.On Monday at tea time there were two earthquakes in 1minute.

Sophie's Podcast - Regarding the Kakapo

Letti came to Room2.

They Letti showed room 4 and us Tonga ''treasure''. One of her special thing was her wedding skirt and it had holes in it.

Letti had a giant topa cloth for wedding decorations and for people to sit on it. There was a fan it was shape like a love heart

with a coconut shell in the middle of it. She taught us what they wear to church. They eat fresh fruit and they drink coconut
milk. In Tonga use banana leaves for plates. The most important thing for Tonga is nature.

Museum trip.

In the holidays I went to the Museum. I went in Rob's car. We got a cookie time biscuit. we had to wait for B.o.o.s.t but they were waiting at the bridge.


Finally,we went in to the Early Setters street. The Museum is cool because we saw dinosaur's bones and a mummy. The mummy was a king that lived many hundreds of years ago.He got rap up when he died and turned into a mummy. Lastly we went to a play area.

Surfing a Monster Wave-Recount

On a hot sunny day I went to the beach.I Was seasick because it was freezing. I got in to the sea I vomited in the sea because it was freezing. When I got on my surfboard it was slippery. The wave began to form into place. The wave got very gigantic then it got powerful and slammed me. That was the time that I let go of the rope. The wave''SMASHED'' at me . After that, a lifeguard came and rescue me but when I got to shore I couldn't move my leg and back. Just then my Mum came and I was rushed to the ambulance. My Mum came with me in the ambulance too.
